TRANSLUOGHI — Ecomuseo del Bussento Contemporaneo opens in Morigerati

At the Antico Frantoio in Morigerati

The Transluoghi site — the first Ecomuseum of Contemporary Bussento, the result of a project by the Municipality of Morigerati, funded by the Operational Program for Action and Cohesion complementary to the PON Culture and Development (FESR 2014–2020) and by the Ministry of Culture — is finally set to open its doors to the public on March 8 and 9.

The Ecomuseum — which was also officially recognized by the Campania Region last December — is conceived as an integrated system for tourism in the Municipality of Morigerati, designed to highlight and connect the area’s landscape and environmental resources with the vast intangible heritage preserved by its inhabitants, through a rich cultural program of experiential nature — conceived based on the model of the Transluoghi residencies, which has been refined over the years.

The Ecomuseum, in fact, consists of a network of places and sites, itineraries, and points of interest throughout the area, all linked to the life stories of the town’s residents, thereby preserving its past and present memory — achieved through signage and land art installations, a system of tourist and cultural itineraries, a sustainable mobility plan, and the enhancement of digital tools made available to visitors and operators.

The co-creation process that led to the establishment of the Ecomuseum — coordinated by Transluoghi’s team of community managers — took place within the framework of the artist-in-residence programs integrated into the organization’s tourism and cultural offerings, and was embraced by both the local community and groups of visitors from outside the area who passed through Morigerati.

On March 8 and 9, starting from the new venue set up in the municipality’s historic oil mill, visitors will be able to tour the spaces and experience the ecomuseum’s cross-media exhibit—designed to showcase places, itineraries, and people—as part of the official opening ceremony, the full details of which will be announced shortly.
